Why is product safety important?

This means that we set ourselves much stricter standards in the interests of our customers’ health and safety.

Product testing

All the materials we use in our products are tested in order to identify and reduce any potential safety risks. We never put any products on sale until we are confident that it has been through a rigorous testing process.

Product safety compliance

As stated above, all the materials we use are tested thoroughly. Below, we set out the compliance framework we work within for some of the materials we use the most in our products.

Part 2: 1982 Ignition source 5 (crib 5) as modified by Schedule 1, Part 1, of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 (as amended 1989, 1993 and 2010)

BS5852: Part 1: 1979 Cigarette source and butane ignition source 1 in accordance with the modifications stated in Schedule 4, Part 1, and Schedule 5, Part 1, of The Furniture & Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 (as amended 1989, 1993 and 2010)

All of our fabrics and colours are tested to ensure that they fully comply with the flammability requirements as set out in this statutory instrument.

Wood grade

We only use A-grade wood, which means it is of the highest quality and only used for top-class joinery.
